Laboratory performs:

- cyclic and static tests of materials

- test of parts of transport devices

- tests of suspension and damping

- tests of building materials

- controlling of the tests

- non-destructive measurements of strains

- measurements of accelarations,

  velocities and displacements

- data processing

- high and low cycle fatige analysis

- metalographic and fractographic analysis

- simulation of operatinal loadings

Laboratories of the Institute have unique electro-hydraulic pulsators from Inova Edyz6

and MTS Bionix servo-hydraulic test system. These systems allow simulate the real

operation of the components in the laboratory environment. Together with multi-channel

measuring devices, it is possible to obtain valuable results to solve various operational

problems such as fatigue fractures.

The workplace has the most up-to-date thermography technologies which are  used in pedagogic processes as well as industrial

applications and research. Students will learn the basics of thermo -dynamics during work on the final diploma projects. After

graduating the study, the students are able to  apply the acquire knowledge skills immediately without additional and costly training.

Equipment of the laboratories of the IAMM

The workplace provides material analyzes to assess the fatigue life time of structures, operational tests of specimens and parts of structures,

also measurements and analysis of structures loadings in practice. Instrumentation equipment: EDYZ 6 electro-hydraulic pulsator with full

accessories, multi-channel strain gauge equipment of National Instruments for dynamic measurements in practice, TIV optical micro-hardness

tester, high-speed contactless measuring system of strains from DANTEC company, thermo-vision FLIR camera for measurements of temperature

fields, photo stress measuring system for contactless measurements of deformation and tension based on photo elasticity.

Stress/strain measurement by strain gauges in laboratory or operational conditions

- measurement and analysis of loading in operation

Destructive tests of pressure vessels and metallographic analyses thanks to unique equipment

Classrooms and other equipment of the institute for the teaching of new progressive technologies

Students will go through a study on applied mechanics and mechatronics through multiple dedicated facilities and specific laboratories.

Instrumentation for contactless high speed strains measurement - DANTEC. Our institute is the first workplace

in Slovakia which has such excellent equipment. The laboratory is ranked among the excellent STU laboratories.
